What a Part 107 course actually needs to buy.
The knowledge test needs a classroom. The skills employers hire for need a flight lab, spares, and records. Here is the list, with a price on every line we sell and honest notes on the ones we do not.
| Item | Why | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Trainer aircraft, complete kits | One per two or three students; a Corvin kit includes airframe, handheld FPV monitor, and controller | $2,999 each |
| Spare arm and motor assemblies | Arms take most of the damage; a conversion kit is the full-size assembly | $1,800 each, one per two or three aircraft |
| Spare batteries | Two per aircraft keeps a lab flying through a two-hour session | $250 each |
| FPV goggles | For manual-mode and FPV proficiency; the kit's handheld monitor covers orientation flying | $1,000 each, optional |
| Camera gimbal | For photo and inspection exercises | $500 each, optional |
| 3D printer and ABS filament | Print frame parts; repair becomes curriculum | Not sold by EnCor; a desktop printer that handles ABS |
| Fleet, pilot, and flight records | Currency, training hours per airframe, maintenance, every flight logged | EnCor Command Training, $2,400 a year per site |
| Part 107 knowledge test | One per student, at an FAA testing center | about $175 per test, paid to the center |
| Simulator time | Useful before the first flight; several products exist | Not sold by EnCor |
A ten-aircraft lab, totalled
Ten Corvin complete kits, four conversion kits, and twenty spare batteries come to $42,190. Add EnCor Command Training at $2,400 a year for the records. The universities page works the per-student cost across semesters.
What the list leaves out on purpose
A camera-first aircraft. Students learning airmanship do not need a zoom camera, and a trainer that costs $2,999 can be crashed in a way a $16,000 aircraft cannot. When the course reaches inspection and mapping, the Spector and Ranger are in development at published prices.
Questions buyers ask
How many aircraft does a Part 107 course need?
One aircraft per two or three students gives everyone flight time in a two-hour lab. A ten-aircraft fleet serves a class of twenty to thirty with spares in rotation.
Do students need to fly to pass the Part 107 test?
No. The certificate is a knowledge test. Flight time is what makes the certificate useful, and it is what employers and agencies ask about, so most programs pair the test preparation with a flight lab.
Why not train on consumer drones?
Foreign-made ones cannot be authorized or bought with federal money since December 22, 2025, imported ones now carry a 25 percent tariff, and none of them is built to be opened by a student. A trainer with detachable arms and printable parts turns crashes into lab sessions.
What does the fleet cost?
Ten Corvin complete kits are $29,990; with four conversion kits and twenty batteries a ten-aircraft lab is about $42,190. Per student and per semester arithmetic is on the universities page.
Is there a records system for the program?
EnCor Command Training, $2,400 a year per site, keeps aircraft health, maintenance, pilot certificates and currency, training hours per airframe, and every flight's log.
