Defeating small drones with a shotgun is now a training subject for units and agencies that are authorized to do it. The Corvin is the target: a $1,799 US-built airframe that hovers, accelerates, presents small, and rebuilds after a hit.

We do not sell target fleets to civilian ranges for shooting. Shooting at an aircraft is a federal felony unless you operate under an authorization; the law page lays it out. This page is for organisations that hold one.

What the training needs from a target

  • Real aircraft behaviour. Hover, lateral acceleration, altitude changes, a small frame: what a clay cannot present.
  • A price that survives the loss rate. Airframe only, $1,799, so the fleet is sized to be consumed.
  • Rebuild between sessions. Detachable arms swap in about three minutes; frame parts print in ABS; electronics move to a fresh frame.
  • US-built and compliant. Designed and built in Tulsa, Oklahoma, without Section 889 covered components, so it flies where foreign aircraft cannot.
  • Batches on a card. Four airframes stay under the $10,000 federal micro-purchase threshold for replacement buys; a full fleet is a normal purchase above it.

Replacement airframes are bought as targets are consumed. Recovered airframes lower the line; an aircraft that loses an arm and lands is back in the pattern the same afternoon.

Limits, stated plainly

The Corvin presents a 5-inch class quadcopter, up to 22 minutes of flight, up to 1.5 pounds of payload. It does not present a fixed-wing or Group 2 profile. It is pilot-flown within visual line of sight; the pilot stands off and flies the presentation. Range safety design and the legal authorization are yours.

Who is this page for?

Military units, federal agencies, and any organisation that holds an authorization to destroy drones in training or testing. It is not for civilian gun ranges; the law page explains why.

Why a real drone rather than a drone-mimicking clay?

Because the thing being trained is hitting an aircraft that flies like an aircraft: hovering, accelerating, changing altitude, presenting a small frame. Clays teach lead; a drone teaches the target. Authorized programs use both.

What does a shotgun round do to a Corvin?

Usually breaks arms and propellers and holes the frame. Arms detach and swap in about three minutes, frame parts are 3D printable in ABS, and the electronics in the centre often survive and move to a fresh frame. Losses become parts, not write-offs.

What does a course consume?

Plan on losing a share of the fleet per session and rebuilding the rest. Eighteen airframes at $1,799 plus two complete kits at $2,999 for the pilots come to $38,380; four conversion kits and twenty batteries add $12,200. Every line is on the pricing page. Replacement batches can be bought as targets are consumed.

Can you fly it as a target without a pilot on the trigger line?

The Corvin is pilot-flown within visual line of sight. A pilot stands off and flies the presentation; the shooters engage. Range safety design is yours.

Will EnCor confirm we are authorized?

No. The authorization is yours and your counsel's. We will ask what organisation is buying and for what use, and we will not sell target fleets to civilian ranges for shooting.
